Above all, the very best feature about the Bionaire BDQ01-UC Mini Dehumidifier is the look. This is a very stylish new mini dehumidifier that they put on the market to attract an audience that they know is going to be buying the dehumidifier specifically for small spaces or other areas where the dehumidifier might be noticeable. Unlike much of the competition, this does not look like an old rusty piece of machinery. In addition, they too care to make sure that it does not look like something out of the space age either.

IT does have an LED light which can be slightly annoying for bedrooms because of the light it gives off. It is nice to be able to tell whether or not the dehumidifier is actually running, but it makes it very inconvenient for a bedroom.

There are some negative features to this dehumidifier as well. Unfortunately the Bionaire BDQ01-UC Mini Dehumidifier is not even close to as quite as other mini dehumidifiers. Part of the reason you pick up the class of mini dehumidifiers is to get a dehumidifier that is as close to silent as possible. Unfortunately, this one is almost as loud as a fan. When it comes to the small dehumidifiers like this one; that is just not competitive. We understand that more and more of these dehumidifiers are being shipped over to China for manufacturing, but at some point the materials need to be upgraded a bit to keep quality. We hope that they upgrade this model with quieter components. Bionaire does make some decent dehumidifier models so do not give up on the brand just yet.

Another problem is that is just does not remove humidification from the air like its competitors such as the Frigidaire. It will get rid of some humidity, but it takes a significant amount of time and is not nearly as effective. The reason you buy a small dehumidifier like this one is typically to get rid of moisture quickly after a shower or during those humid summer months. Unfortunately in a battle between shower moisture and this dehumidifier, the shower is always going to win.

One more really good thing about this dehumidifier is the price. They went with roughly $50 which is a really good number for the average introductory dehumidifier. Expect to see this dehumidifier at a variety of discount locations possibly moving eventually to Wal-Mart or other ultra discount retailers.

Unfortunately, based on customer reviews and product specifications this dehumidifier review is not a good buy compared to some of the other models that are out there. Perhaps after this company increases their quality standards a bit or can reduce the noise on this model, then you might want to take a second look. But until then, you should check out some of the mini dehumidifier competition such as the Sunpentown or the Frigidaire as their performance is much better than the Bionaire BDQ01-UC Mini Dehumidifier.
