Bionaire Dehumidifiers

Bionaire dehumidifiers are one of the newer brands on the market so it is difficult to give them an overall rating compared to the other more established brands on the market. They do tend to get lower reviews at this point in time compared to the established brands like Frigidaire, but that may just be because their call centers and support have not quite reached the level of a major producer of appliances. They still have the extended warranties that you expect on a appliance purchase of this magnitude, but you still may want to check the fine print on Bionaire products until they are a bit more of an established brand. The information about this brand was written in 2010 so take it for what it's worth as dehumidifier reviews of the latest dehumidifier models tend to change over time. Until there are more dehumidifiers out there made by Bionaire, your best bet is to check user reviews specifically on each model.

That being said, Bionaire tends to produce dehumidifiers that are small in size. Therefore, they are producing lower quality dehumidifiers because they are also very inexpensive. Unfortunately, inexpensive dehumidifiers generally are of much lower quality because the components required to make a quality dehumidifier do not run cheap. That's why a typical mid-sized dehumidifier costs around $200 whereas you can get a Bionaire dehumidifier for around $50 and in some cases even less depending on the model. However, these dehumidifiers do have a much shorter life span, which may be acceptable in certain situations.

With the low cost and small size comes the advantage that they are ideal for bathrooms and other small spaces such as closets or even the corner of a basement that always seems to collect moisture. Mini dehumidifiers such as the ones that Bionaire produces are ideal in these situations can be worth the purchase even if you only get a year or two out of them because of how much cheaper they are than buying a full sized model. It is generally recommended that you clean Bionaire dehumidifiers more often than you would a full sized as dust and dirt particles are a major killer of these smaller dehumidifiers. Putting extra stress on the mechanics of a Bionaire dehumidifier by clogging it up with dirt will shorten the life even further.

As one of the newer brands on the market, Bionaire still has plenty of time to get into some of the newer and larger models which we expect that they will at some point in time. Since they are typically offering prices as a bargain brand, there's a high chance that they will go a bit lower in price which is something that the dehumidifier industry could use right now. Because a quality dehumidifier is generally going to cost $250 as a relatively standard price point, $150 is what we would expect Bionaire to offer for a mid-sized residential dehumidifier which we forsee within the next couple of years.

Bionaire is generally known for it's humidifier products so they may just have gotten into the dehumidifier market to try it out. Until more models come out by Bionaire, it's going to be hard to give them a fair rating. Check out the following product reviews or product overviews below to see some of the specifications and user reviews on specific models. The best advice we can give at this point is to be cautious and do your research before you buy a Bionaire.
