Frigidaire 25-PINT Dehumidifier Review

The Frigidaire 25-Pint Dehumidifier is one of Frigidaire’s lower price point dehumidifiers making it ideal for those looking for moderate dehumidification needs. It usually is going to run you from $150 to $200 depending on where you shop so try to avoid spending more than $200. Some physical retailers like Lowe's or Home Depot run a little bit high when it comes to Frigidaire Dehumidifiers so sometimes you can get a bit better of a deal online. It is moderately small compared to other dehumidifiers, but will still get the job done if you are looking to dehumidify a medium sized space. Overall, the Frigidaire 25 Pint Dehumidifier is designed for those regions that are humid, but without jungle like humidity since the bucket will tend to fill up quick in areas that have 100% humidity year round.

If you are looking to dehumidify your living room then this product may very well be ideal for your needs. However, it is not recommended that you use this one in a basement because a 25 pint bucket is not going to get you very far if your basement is more than about 1000 square feet. Most basements that are greater than 750 square feet are probably going to need an industrial strength dehumidifier and this dehumidifier is good for quiet and energy efficient dehumidification but not so much on brute strength. There is a slight humming of the fan inside the dehumidifier which is standard with mid-sized dehumidifiers, heaters, air conditioners and many other electrical appliances, but the Frigidaire 25-Pint Dehumidifier is nothing outrageous, but the fan is still audible.

The quality here is pretty much what you would expect for a Frigidaire dehumidifier. It is a pretty solid brand and this dehumidifier is an average example of their quality. It is not their top quality product like some of their $1000 refrigerators, but it should last you 5 years or more with moderate to heavy use which is not bad for their introductory dehumidifier. This dehumidifier is not quite like the old dehumidifiers that would last you ten years or more, but it should do the trick for a while if you do not have it on full blast all the time. The warranty on all Frigidaire's is nice as well so you should not have any issues getting your broken parts fixed if needed.

The power behind this dehumidifier is a bit more than you might expect for only having a 25 pint bucket. It even has the ability to fill its bucket up in less than one day’s time if you put it at full blast in a very humid area that experience 90% humidity or more. The only annoyance here is how often you have to change the bucket. If you are in a humid area you might want to spend the extra hundred dollars to upgrade to the 70 pint unit that Frigidaire makes. However, the bucket can still be ideal as a 25 pint bucket is way easier to carry than the bulky 70-pint bucket. Second only to price, the power of the Frigidaire 25-Pint Dehumidifier is the next best feature of this dehumidifier.

For your money, you can probably find a quieter dehumidifier if that is what you are looking for but this would be at the expense of dehumidification power. For a bit more money you can upgrade to their 50 or 70 pint unit. However, if you are in an area that is not too humid and are looking for an inexpensive alternative to some of the larger dehumidifiers then you should check out the Frigidaire 25 Pint Dehumidifier. It's designed for mid-range dehumidification needs which is all that many households really need.
